Tax Sale

You are invited to participate in a mock online tax sale auction.

The mock auction will take place on Tuesday, April 15th with registration open on April 8th. The sale will occur between 10 AM and 2 PM and will be a direct bid auction, with random selection of tying bids. The auction will be as close to the real thing as possible, except you can register with bogus information and will be playing with monopoly money.

The two websites that will be important are the registration site, which is: http://iowa.govtechtaxpro.com and the auction site, which is: www.sri-zap.com .

We look forward to your participation and if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact (SRI Incorporated (800) 800-9588, GovTech Services (888) 304-5989)

The Woodbury County Treasurer is responsible for the administration of the Annual Tax Sale and must offer for sale per Iowa Code Chapter 446, parcels in which taxes have become delinquent. The purpose of the tax sale is to collect unpaid taxes. The Annual Tax Sale takes place the 3rd Monday in June of each year.

Delinquent taxes on a parcel subject to sale will be advertised in June in an official county newspaper and on this website. Properties will be listed in alphabetical order by taxing district.

A printout of the list is available at the Woodbury County Treasurers Office and on this website (a link will appear at the bottom of this page in June).

The investor is responsible for all research on parcels available for auction.
