The Department of Rural Economic Development is devoted to assisting our citizens who live outside our urban center, Sioux City. The department's focus has been to promote small family farms and related farm businesses.

We are also involved in many other projects that are unrelated to small family farms; most notably, the Equestrian Center Project. The department is also involved in industrial, commercial, and residential development projects.
