R.I.P. K9 Rudy

K9 Rudy

It is with heavy hearts that the Woodbury County Sheriff's Office annouces the passing of eleven year veteran K9 Deputy Rudy.  K9 Rudy was handled by Veteran Deputy Sheriff and K9 handler Todd Trobough.  Rudy worked the street until he was 14 years old and just recently retired from a very productive career.  Rudy was trained to do it all.  Rudy found drugs, made criminal apprehensions, did article searches, found lost children and elderly people and was a great ambassador for the sheriff's office doing multiple K9 demonstrations during his career.  Rudy also sired a number of K9's currenlty working for the Woodbury County Sheriff's Office and the Sioux City Police Department.  With everything Rudy accomplished however, he made his biggest impact in life on his best friend and handler, Deputy Todd Trobuagh.  God Bless Rudy, Todd and his family during this difficult time.

As a continued effort to make the Sheriff's Office more transparent to the residents of Woodbury County, Sheriff Drew has initiated the following flow of information.  Note:  The statistics below were accomplished with an average of 2.35 deputies working per shift.
