AUGUST 21, 2012 — THIRTYTHIRD MEETING OF THE WOODBURY COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS The Board of Supervisors met on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Board members present were Monson, Clausen, Boykin, Tripp, and Smith. Staff members present were Karen James, Board Administrative Coordinator, Joshua Widman, Assistant County Attorney, and Patrick F. Gill, Auditor/Clerk to the Board. The meeting was called to order. Motion by Monson second by Tripp to approve the minutes of the 08/14/2012 Board meeting. Carried 5-0. Copy filed. Motion by Monson second by Boykin to approve the separation of Gabriel Sweers, Temporary engineering Aide, Secondary Roads Dept., effective 08/15/12. End of Temporary Work; the separation of Jakob Funk, Temporary Sumer Laborer, Secondary Roads Dept., effective 08-17-12. End of Temporary Work; and the appointment of Anabel Verdin, Youth Worker, Juvenile Detention Dept., effective 08/22/12, $20.78/hour. From Part-time to Full-time Status. Carried 5-0. Copy filed. Motion by Monson second by Tripp to approve requests from Karen Lumphrey to remain on County Health and Dental Insurance Plans. Carried 5-0. Motion by Boykin second by Tripp to lift the suspension of taxes for Albert Homer, 2205 W 2nd St, Sioux City, parcel #894730257010. Carried 5-0. Motion by Tripp second by Clausen to approve and authorize the Chairperson to sign a Resolution approving petition for suspension of taxes through the redemption process for Robert Mathison, 521 W 16th St, Sioux City, parcel #894720379003. Carried 5-0. WOODBURY COUNTY, IOWA West Fifty feet (W 50’) Lots Seven, Eight, Nine (7, 8, 9) Block Twenty-five (25) North Sioux City Addition, City of Sioux City, Woodbury County, Iowa WHEREAS, Robert Mathison is the titleholder of the aforementioned property have petitioned the Board of Supervisors for a suspension of taxes pursuant to the 2009 Iowa Code section 427.9, and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors recognizes from documents provided that the petitioner is unable to provide to the public revenue; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Woodbury County Board of Supervisors hereby grants the request for a suspension of taxes, and hereby directs the Woodbury County Treasurer to so record the approval of this tax suspension for this property. Motion by Tripp second by Monson to approve and authorize the Chairman to sign an Underground Utility Permit for CenturyLink for new telephone line on 150th St., per recommendation of County Engineer Mark Nahra. Motion by Boykin second by Monson to approve and authorize the Chairman to sign an Underground Utility Permit for Mid American Energy on Old Highway 75 near Sloan, per recommendation of County Engineer Mark Nahra. Carried 5-0. Copy filed. The Chairperson asked if there were any individuals or groups wishing to make a presentation of items not on the agenda, or Supervisors concerns. There was no action taken on the appeal of a General Relief decision for Joseph Lefebvre. The Board adjourned the regular meeting until August 28, 2012. |
