Information: Mark Monson moved to Sgt. Bluff in 1972 and has lived there since. Mark was elected to the Woodbury County Board of Supervisors in November 2004. He is a graduate of West Monona Schools in Onawa. Mark has spent the past 35 years in education. He taught high school in Emerson Nebraska for two years and was a Speech-Language Pathologist with the Woodbury County Schools and later Western Hills AEA 12 serving schools in and around Woodbury County. In the past 26 years he supervised a number of special education programs through Western Hills.

Mark is married to Judy, a teacher in the Sgt. Bluff-Luton School District. They have two grown children and one grand child. His primary focus is economic development in the county. He serves on the Loess Hills Alliance, Highway 20 taskforce, Siouxland Economic Development Corporation, and a number of additional committees. Mark’s goal is long range planning.
