Woodbury County Supervisors

court7.jpgThe Woodbury County Board of Supervisors is comprised of five elected officials, with an administrative staff consisting of a Board Administrative Coordinator and an Executive Secretary / Public Bidder.

The functions of the Board of Supervisors are varied and its authority embraces practically every aspect of County Government. Although these functions are primarily administrative in nature, the board exercises power characteristic of each of the three branches of government: executive, legislative, and judicial. For example, the Board fills vacancies in county offices by appointing successors, fixes rules relating to the use of county buildings and grounds, and determines the disposition of claims against the county. The board acts as a general business manager for the county government, plays a major role in matters of county taxation and finance, and is the governmental authority responsible for the construction and maintenance of the county road system. In some areas the duties of the board are nominal, while others are extensive.

Welcome to the World of the Woodbury County Treasurer site, his deputies and staff. You will find here a knowledgeable, ready to serve group of individuals that staff three departments, all here for the convenience of the residents and taxpayers of Woodbury County.

The Motor Vehicle Division of the Treasurer's Office issues vehicle titles and licenses, registers, collects all vehicle fees for the residents of Woodbury County. The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) issues hunting and fishing licenses, and also processes titles and registrations for boats, ATVs, and snowmobiles.

Here are some other services you may or may not be aware of, some already in place, and some in the future.

A joint venture has been formulated with the Iowa D.O.T. to make drivers license and vehicle registration renewals more convenient.  We staff one Motor Vehicle specialist in the Drivers License Station at the Market Place Mall. This makes it possible for you to renew both licenses with one stop.

The Woodbury County Treasurer's offices in Sioux City (Motor Vehicle-Trosper/Hoyt Building) and Anthon are the only treasurer's offices in the state to offer DNR serices.
