PUTTING FARMING BACK IN THE DRIVER’S SEAT, published with the permission of The Land Stewardship Letter, spotlights Woodbury County efforts to revitalize our rural landscape.

Announcement:
Second Annual “Organic Growers Conference" is scheduled for November 2, 2006 at Sergeant Bluff Family Center.  Details for the upcoming conference will be made available by August 1, 2006.  The DVD from last year’s conference will be available on June 30, 2006.

Introducing the Organic Growers Resource Center:  Everything for transitioning, farming, and marketing of organic food production with great resources for the conventional farmer as well.   

DIARY OF A FARM TRANSITION, a upcoming publication of Woodbury County, will be an ongoing story of one farm’s experiences in organic transition and barn renovation – you will find this Diary very informative and entertaining.  The Diary will be posted exclusively on the Woodbury County website.  

A ‘Mentor Network’ has been established for those seeking a farm evaluation and have ongoing questions regarding organic agriculture – Contact the Rural Economic Development Department.
