WEST MIDDLE STUDENT COUNCIL DONATES STUFFED ANIMALS

West Middle Student Council Stuffed Animal Dontaion

On Thursday, December 11th, West Middle School teacher Mrs. Kerri Johnson (not pictured), Kaylyne Patterson (pictured left), and Brooke Larson (pictured right) stopped by the Sheriff's Office to drop off over 350 stuffed animals to Sheriff Drew. The West Middle School Student Council collected the stuffed animals during Red Ribbon Week back in October.  Kaylyne and Brooke are both in the 8th grade and are members of the student council.  The Sheriff's Office shrink wraps the toys and issues them to patrol deputies.  During the course of the deputies duties, there are times when they come across age appropriate children that are involved in traumatic situations.  Deputies will give a stuffed animal to the child to help comfort them. Thank you West Middle School Student Council for helping the Sheriff's Office make a child's life a little brighter during an unfortunate situation.

On December 2nd, Sheriff Dave Drew stopped by the June E. Nylen Cancer Center to drop off the Woodbury County donations that were collected for No Shave November.  This was the second annual No Shave November at the Sheriff's Office and the first for all of the county offices and departments.  Sheriff Drew had issued a challenge to the rest of the county offices and departments on the first of November.  It was a huge help when the other offices and departments got involved.  As a county, we collected $2,005.00 for the Cancer Center. Pictured above is the Cancer Center Director, Karen Van De Steeg, accepting the donations from Sheriff Drew.  Thank you to everyone that participated.  God Bless.

Nylen Cancer Center.  The Sheriff's office would like to thank all of the county employees that participated.  God Bless everyone for giving during the holiday season.

SIOUX SALES DONATES FOURTEEN BIKES TO SEVEN WOODBURY COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICTS

2014 Sioux Sales Xmas Bike Giveaway

Thank you Curt and Brad Bornholtz from Sioux Sales.  They just made fourteen children a lot happier this Christmas.  Curt and Brad donated enough money to purchase fourteen new bikes from Walmart.  The bikes were delivered by the Sheriff's Office to each of the seven rural school districts in Woodbury County.  Each district will choose a girl and boy to receive a bike.  It's generosity like this that makes the holidays a wonderful time.  God Bless.
