Larry Clausen, a lifetime resident of Woodbury County, was elected to the Woodbury County Board of Supervisors in November 1981, and has served seven terms. He is married to Dorothy, has three children, and five grand children, who all live here in Woodbury County.
Larry's Primary Focus as a supervisor has been to hold the line on county taxes. He was instrumental in the building of the Woodbury County Law Enforcement Center that currently houses the Woodbury County Jail, Sheriff's Administrative Offices, the Clerk of Courts, and court rooms. During his service as a supervisor to Woodbury County, he has also been instrumental in the purchase and implementation of the Trosper-Hoyt Building, which houses the Woodbury County Juvenile Detention Center, the "New" Department of Motor Vehicle Division, and State offices consisting of the Department of Human Services, Juvenile Court Services, and Juvenile/Family Court.
